Most of the men who sit down with me have never told anyone the whole story. They hold jobs, raise kids, show up for everyone else, and carry a weight nobody sees. I built my practice for them.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker based in Houston, and I specialize in men's mental health and couples work. I opened The Imago Dei Firm because I believe high-functioning men deserve a place where they can stop performing and start telling the truth. That truth is usually the beginning of everything getting better.
My work is shaped by a framework I developed called His Invisible Struggle. It gives language to the hidden emotional battles men fight in silence: the pressure to have it together, the fear of being a burden, the loneliness that comes with being the strong one. When a man finally has words for what he's carrying, he can finally set some of it down.
In couples work, I help partners understand what's actually happening underneath the arguments. I'm not there to referee. I'm there to interpret, to help each of you hear what the other has been trying to say, and to help you build something steadier than what you walked in with. I'm certified in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), an approach built on a simple idea: people heal inside safe, connected relationships. That belief runs through everything I do, whether I'm sitting with one man or with a couple.
I also serve as a certified mediator and arbitrator, which means I'm trained to help people in conflict find their way back to the table. In 2024, I was one of three therapists invited to the White House for its first-ever Creator Mental Health Summit, a conversation about how mental health shows up for people living their lives in public.
Beyond the therapy room, I teach as an adjunct professor at Texas Southern University. My wife Vanessa and I co-host the Joyfully Jiles podcast, where we talk openly about marriage, family, and the things couples aren't supposed to say out loud. I'm also one of three hosts of The Stable Man Podcast, a show built around four pillars: faith, family, finance, and fidelity. Alongside a marriage and spiritual development coach and a retired pastor turned real estate investor, I bring the therapist's chair to the table to help men build stronger marriages, steadier faith, and stable lives.
I'm a husband and a father. Stewardship and legacy matter deeply to me, and they shape how I show up for the people I work with. I don't see myself as a guru or a fixer. I see myself as an interpreter, a regulator, and a truth-teller. My job is to help you understand yourself clearly, stay grounded when things get hard, and face what's real with someone in your corner.
If you're tired of carrying it alone, I'd be honored to help.
